Alice Lovelace To Feature at Avondale's Monthly Poetry Reading Tuesday Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.

Avondale Estates’

monthly  poetry reading will feature widely published and very popular

award-winning performance poet Alice Lovelace on Tuesday September 3 at 7 p.m.
at Avondale’s Savage Pizza ( corner of Laredo and N Clarendon) 115 Laredo.
Local poets and poetry lovers can share a favorite poem or two during the open
reading from 7 :15 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the featured poet  begins reading at
8 p.m.

Alice Lovelace is a writer, editor, teacher, and organizer.  She is a co-editor of the
anthologies CRUX: A conversation in words and images South Africa to South
USA
(2007); and The United States Social Forum: Perspectives of a

Movement
(2010).  Since 1965, Alice has served as a co-editor of

the section Art Changes at In Motion Magazine, an online journal devoted

to issues of democracy.  Alice is co-author of the artist book Harriet

Rising
, with visual artist Lisa Tuttle based on their one year public

arts project at Underground Atlanta.   The project was
named as one of the 50 most important public arts projects in the nation during
2011. Alice’s poetry is featured in the publications Forever, Remembering
My Birth
, and This is for Family.
