You Can Do This Today: Mugs For Jugs

Here are 5 Things you need to know about this day -- Monday, Oct. 1, 2012.

1. Fighting breast cancer with pottery. MudFire Gallery, normally closed on Mondays, will hold Mugs for Jugs, an exhibition and sale of handmade ceramic mugs to raise money for breast cancer research. The exhibit and benefit sale starts online at 10 a.m. and the gallery at 175 Laredo Drive will be open until 10 p.m. Free admission.Β 

2. Renovations at Oakhurst Elementary. Parents of kids at Oakhurst Elementary can talk to school system officials from 5:30-6:30 p.m. aboutΒ  construction and expansion at the school.
