Work Proceeds on Decatur Public Works Building

Ground was broken in December on the $7.9 million project.

Here's how work is coming on the renovation of the Decatur Public Works building.

Deputy City Manager Hugh Saxon said the projected finish date is Nov. 15 but that heavy summer rains may push it back.

Work started in December on the $7.9 million project at 2635 Tally St.

The department has temporarily moved into 9,400 square feet of leased office-warehouse space at 2716 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.

The administrative offices are operating out of 811 Church St.
