Wilson Won't Run Again For Decatur School Board

Annie Caiola says she'll seek Wilson's at-large seat.

A familiar face will be missing from the Decatur School Board next year.

Valarie Wilson, a board member since 2002 and chairwoman 2005-11, says she will not seek re-election in November, according to Decatur Metro.

Meanwhile, Annie Caiola announced on her website that she'll run for Wilson's at-large seat. Caiola is a lawyer and has two children in the Decatur system.

Two other school board seats will be on the Nov. 5 ballot.

Board chairman Marc Wisniewski said by email that he hasn't decided whether to run.

Board vice chairwoman Bernadette Seals said she will run.
