What's On The Menu At the Wednesday Farmers Market?

The Decatur Farmers Market will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at
163 Clairmont Ave., the corner of Commerce Avenue and Church Street.

Vendor of the Week

Zocalo Salsas are made with 100% fresh ingredients they buy from local farmers. With no preservatives, they are also high in protein, cholesterol free, vegetarian, and gluten free.  From Arbol, to Chipotle, and Habenero, Zocalo brings the the freshest of heats. 

Owners Luis and Sonia Martinez prepare moles and salsas according to an old family recipe using fresh ingredients. They maintain a consistent presence at almost all the markets throughout Atlanta, Chattanooga and Tampa. 

"Farmers markets are all about food roots, food culture, food integrity. Zocalo’s mission has always been to serve real Mexican food," Martinez tells Deborah Geering of Atlanta Magazine. "You’re able to know all kinds of people, not only the customers but all of the vendors. It really becomes a kind of family. Everyone is very authentic, very truthful about what they’re doing, and all of them have such great intentions."

Saturday Farmers Market

The Saturday farmers market will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of N. McDonough and Trinity, near Decatur High School.
