Weekend Planner: Holiday Edition

There's plenty to do, but for starters you can enjoy the bonfire and marshmallow roast, breakfast with Santa, a holiday bazaar in Oakhurst, Santa's workshop at Emory Presbyterian and a special performance by the Atlanta Radio Theatre Company.

This weekend is full of hoiday activities. Here are five big ones, but for a full listing check out the Calendar of Holiday Happenings or the Events calendar.

1. Bonfire and marshmallow roast. The whole community is invited to gather at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the community bandstand for sweet treats. Santa will make an appearance, too. Free.

2. Breakfast with Santa. The kids will enjoy snacks and visiting with Saint Nick, starting at 8 a.m. Saturday the Courtyard Marriott in Decatur. $12.

3. Oakhurst Holiday Bazaar & Fair Trade Market. Local artisans and fair trade vendors will sell their Christmas wares, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at 630 E. Lake Drive in Decatur. There will be special children’s craft times and a free photo booth with Santa from 10 a.m.-noon and 2-4 p.m. Free admission.

4. Santa's workshop. Kids can make ornaments and gifts from 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the Emory Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Free and open to the public.

5. Atlanta Radio Theatre Company. The company performs An Atlanta Christmas to benefit the Center for the Visually Impaired at the Academy Theatre. 8 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. $10.
