Weekend Planner: Dance-A-Thon, Open Mic, Garden of Eatin', Bitteroots and Improv Battle

Get out and do something this weekend. Here are five ideas.

1. . This inaugural Dance-A-Thon will benefit Decatur's non-profit dance company, Decatur City Dance. Come see a Tap Jam, Zumba Class, DJ Dance Party and Yoga. It starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the First Baptist Church tof Decatur at 308 Clairemont Ave. Admission $5.

2. . Showcase your talents at CozeeTeas at 225 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Suite 130, Decatur. It's free and starts at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

3. . This family event features food from more than 20 Decatur area restaurants for just one price. There's also a silent auction, children's activities and music and entertainment. It starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Decatur-DeKalb Family YMCA at 1100 Clairemont Ave., Decatur. Admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

4. The Bitteroots. This local band plays the Concert on the Decatur Square at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. Free.

5. Improv battle. Eight improvisors start on stage, but only one becomes the BattleActs Champion! The merriment starts at 8 p.m. at the Academy Theatre at 119 Center St., Avondale Estates. Tickets are $12 online, $15 at the door.
