Weekend Planner: Start With 'The Life of Paul Robeson'

1. "The Life of Paul Robeson." Stogie Kenyatta stars as Paul Robeson, who faced prejudice on his way to becoming one of the 20th century's great singers. 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Academy Theatre. Tickets $25 online.

2. Callaghan birthday party. The singer-songwriter performs in her annual birthday show at Eddie’s Attic at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $18 at the door, $15 in advance.

3. "Music that Inspires." Enjoy live music in the food court at North DeKalb Mall. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Free.Β 

4. Bingo. The games starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Harold Byrd Post 66. $8.

5. Cells: The Universe Inside Us. This hands-on exhibit at the David J. Sencer Museum at the Centers for Disease Control is designed for children in grades 5-12. Free.
