True stories. Philip Gerard, Brooke Hatfield and Laura Straub will tell their stories at Kavarna in this "night of tantalizingly true tales told by rogue writers and nervy journalists." Starts at 8 p.m. Friday. Free admission.Β 

Pet adoptions at Second Life. Come by this Avondale Estates consignment shop between noon and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and check out the cute, adoptable dogs and cats.

Valentine's Day Dinner at No. 246. Enjoy a special meal at one of Decatur's best restaurants on Thursday. $55 per person.

Buy some local food. Farm Mobile stops at 4 p.m. Friday at Intown Ace Hardware and the Decatur Farmers Market will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday near Decatur High School.

Atlanta Purim Parade & Festival. Decorated floats and costumed adults and children march down LaVista Road. Starts at 11 a.m. Sunday at Congregation Beth Jacob, 1855 Lavista Rd NE, Atlanta.
