Here are 5 Things to know about this date--Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.

1. Knee Pain & Treatments. Jeff Traub, a DeKalb Medical orthopedic surgeon, talks about the latest advances in knee replacements and the treatment of knee conditions and pain. Free at 5 p.m. at DeKalb Medical.

2. Israel and Palestine. Miko Peled, author of The General’s Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine, will talk about his change from Zionist to champion of a single shared state where Israelis and Palestinians live in peace. 7 p.m. at Oakhurst Baptist Church. Free.

3. Consumer debt collection clinic. Consumers can learn about debt collection lawsuits. Volunteer attorneys will answer your individual questions. Free at 5:30 p.m. at the Decaur Library.
