Today: Decatur High Homecoming Parade and Football Game

Here are 5 Things you need to know about this date--Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.

1. Homecoming. Expect a traffic jam downtown around 5:30 p.m. because of the Decatur High Homecoming Parade. There will also be festivities at the school before the 7:30 p.m. game against Towers.

2. Senior exercise classes. The class consists of strengthening with bands and weights, balance and coordination work, range of motion movement, and stretching of all major muscle groups. 10:15 a.m. at North Decatur Presbyterian Church at 611 Medlock Road. $3.

3. Weather. Sunny all weekend with increasingly cooler temps. Friday, highs in the upper 70s, lows in the upper 50s. Saturday, high around 70 and low around 50. Sunday, high around 65 and low around 40.

5. On this date. In 1970, boxer Muhammad Ali defeated Jerry Quarry in a comeback match at Atlanta Municipal Auditorium. It was Ali's first fight after three years of forced retirement because he refused to serve in the military, citing his religious beliefs. (Source: This Day in Georgia History)
