Today: 4/5 Academy Parents Can Learn About Renovation Plans
Here are 5 Things to know about this day -- Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.
1. Renovations at the 4/5 Academy. The school system plans to expand the 4/5 Academy at Fifth Avenue to handle growing enrollment. Parents can talk to school system officials about the project from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the school.
2. Volunteer for a taxing situation. The AARP is looking for retirees to help others prepare their tax returns for the tax season that starts in February. The deadline is Nov. 1. Go to www.aarp.org/taxaide or telephone 1-888-687-2277.
3. Weather forecast. Mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s, lows in the upper 50s.
