You Can Buy Decatur's Newest Brew Friday

Three Taverns will sell its beer at bars in and around Decatur, with the official launch party at the Brick Store Pub.

Beer created by one of Decatur's new local breweries, Three Taverns, will be available on a wide scale for the first time Friday.

Three Taverns' main beers will be sold at bars around Decatur, with the official launch at 5 p.m. Friday at the Brick Store Pub.

Bob Townsend of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution interviewed Three Taverns owner Brian Purcell.

Last year, Purcell and his partners raised $1.9 million in capital and took over a warehouse space in East Decatur Station for a build-out that includes a four-vessel, 30-barrel brewhouse, multiple fermenters, keg and bottling lines, and warm- conditioning and barrel-aging rooms.

By August, Purcell hopes to have bottled beer in package stores and Three Taverns open for brewery tours and tastings. Right now, though, Friday is on his mind.
