The Week Ahead in Decatur and Avondale Estates

1. 'The Big Picture.' This HBO documentary follows students (and some famous adults) as they deal with dyslexia. 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Decatur High Performing Arts Center at 310 N. McDonough St. Free.

2. Decatur's Dishcrawl. It's kind of like a pub crawl, but with restaurants. You'll visit four places in one night and get to meet fellow foodies. It starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday. For information email to ellieh@­dishcrawl.­com. $45.

3. World Book Night. Book lovers will gather at the Decatur Library at 7 p.m. Wednesday and go into the community to give away books to adults who don't read or don't read much.

4. Earth Day. In Decatur, the big celebration takes place Sunday at the Wylde Center. There's an Earth Day Festival Cake Contest at 10:30 a.m. with the Decatur Earth Day Festival starting at 12:30 p.m. with a parade from Harmony Park to the garden at Oakview and South McDonough. The celebration has a pirate theme this year. The Wylde Center also needs some volunteers to help set up the cake contest. If interested, email to andrea@wyldecenter.org. All events free.
