Sugarland Unhurt in Stage Collapse

At least four killed at Indiana State Fair.

Sugarland, the Grammy-winning duo with strong connections to Decatur and Avondale Estates, was uninjured Saturday night when a stage collapsed minutes before their performance at the Indiana State Fair. At least four people were killed.

The band posted on their website, "We are all right after our stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair tonight. Many of our fans and friends in Indianapolis may not be. Please keep them in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever form of strength you are able to send. They need you. Thank you."

Kristian Bush, who sings background vocals and plays multiple instruments, lives in Avondale. Lead singer Jennifer Nettles is a 1997 graduate of Agnes Scott College.
