Group Collecting School Supplies For Homeless Children

4,000+ New books bags needed for metro-Atlanta's

Homeless children. We need the public's help to make sure that homeless children in shelters and group homes are physically prepared for the upcoming school year.

What: ATLANTA-Children's Restoration Network (CRN) has begun its 19th Annual Back 2 School Campaign for homeless children. We will be collecting NEW book bags and school supplies for over 4,000 children in metro area shelters and group homes who will enter the system during the 20013-2014 school year.  In addition, we will have a day of Back 2 School Readiness where children will receive free health screenings, dental and vision exams, haircuts and new book bags filled with school supplies.

We Need Your Help: We need people that can conduct a book bag and school supply drive/collection. We can provide you with any boxes, signs, flyers, etc... that are needed to help make your drive a success. If you can collect at your place of work, church, neighborhood, civic or social group that would be terrific. Please call or email Cliff Kinsey to get your collection started.

The book bag and school supply drive will run from now until July 26th.

Additionally, we will need volunteers to help sort and fill the book bags on Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd.

Where:  If you would like to help support our 19th Annual Back 2 School campaign please visit www.ChildRN.org to make a donation or you can drop off your donation of school supplies and new book bags at our Roswell office located at 11285 Elkins Rd, C-4, Roswell, GA 30076.

Why: CRN firmly believes that receiving a good education is the key to breaking the cycle of homelessness for the children we serve.  Without this campaign many of these children would begin the school year with little or no school supplies. This is very mentally tough for these kids to kick off a new school year physically unprepared. A good education can lead to a stable job, which in turn paves the way for a future career and self-sufficiency.  By linking these children with the basic necessities, they will have a fighting chance at a brighter and better future.

Children's Restoration Network (CRN) is a non-profit agency focusing on the plight of homeless children in our community.  In addition to meeting basic needs, CRN conducts special events to provide a broad range of positive experiences for the children and their mothers to promote healthy and happy community interaction.

We currently work with 132 shelters and group homes throughout 20 metro-Atlanta counties.

Please email Cliff Kinsey to get started Cliff.Kinsey@ChildRN.org or call at 770-649-7117.
