Monday Essentials: Decatur Health & Wellness Expo

Here are five things to know about the week ahead in Decatur and Avondale Estates.

Decatur Health & Wellness Expo. Enjoy Zumba and Jazzercise, door prizes, boxing and Africancersize demos and businesses owers talking about health and wellness resources. You can also sign up for Team Decatur for the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program. The free 8-week training program runs through Sept. 11. Starts at 6 p.m. Monday at the Decatur Recreation center. Free.

Street closure. Starting Monday, the intersection of Sams and Tally streets will be blocked for installation of a new curb and gutter and new paving into the entrance of the Public Works facility. The sidewalks will remain open at the Talley Street Lofts during this time period.

Roadside Geology in Georgia. Authors Pamela J.W. Gore and William Witherspoon will talk about their book by that title at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Decatur Library. Free.

Job fair. Starts at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Life Community Center at 3592 Flat Shoals Road. Free.

DeKalb Symphony Orchestra Summer Pops. Mac Frampton joins the orchestra at 8 p.m. Friday at Georgia Perimeter College at 555 N. Indian Creek Drive in Clarkston.
