The Avondale Tour of Homes starts at 3, but the Holiday Market starts at 12. Holiday Market Authors’ Corner Noon to 2 Jeffrey Small 1 to 2 Carmen Deedy 2 to 4 Mary Kay Andrews 4 to 6 Vicky Shecter Jeffrey Small Award-winning Atlanta author Jeffrey Small will be signing his debut novel, THE BREATH OF GOD, winner of the 2012 Gold Medal for Best Fiction from the Nautilus Book Awards and hailed as "visionary fiction" by Library Journal' Carmen Deedy Carmen Agra Deedy has been writing for children for over two decades. Born in Havana, Cuba, she came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1964. She grew up in Decatur, Deedy began writing as a young mother and storyteller whose NPR commentaries on All Things Considered were collected and released under the title, Growing Up Cuban In Decatur, Georgia. Her children’s books, The Library Dragon, The Yellow Star, Martina the Beautiful Cockroaches, 14 Cows for America, have won numerous awards. Deedy is now expanding into the world of chapter books with her newest work, The Cheshire Cheese Cat: A Dickens of a Tale.
