Olympians Honored On Decatur Square

Here are 5 Things to know about this day -- Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

 

1. Thank you, local Olympians. DeKalb County will honor DeeDee Trotter and Angelo Taylor, track stars who won medals at the Summer Games, with a celebration on the Decatur Square. It starts at 6 p.m. Free, of course.

2. Latin Jazz in Oakhurst. The band Salpicon! plays at 7 p.m. for Jazz Night at Scottish Rite. Bring a blanket to the Solarium at 321 W. Hill St. Free.

3. Enjoy the weather. Mostly sunny with a high around 80 and a low around 60.

4. Public meetings. The Lake Avondale Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. in Avondale Estates City Hall.

5. On this date. In 1976, Playboy magazine released an interview in which presidential candidate Jimmy Carter admitted lusting in his heart for women other than wife.
