Patch Poll Results: Slim Majority Says 2 Months Not Too Long For Christmas Decorations

The wreaths lining Decatur streets hung two months.

UPDATE: Christmas spirit wins by a nose in a Patch poll on Christmas decorations.

The question: Is two months too long for Christmas decorations to hang.

Thirty-one people voted no.

Twenty-seven said yes and one person -- somehow -- didn't know.

Full disclosure: I decided to post this poll after I came home from church on Sunday and noticed the crews at work. After shooting some photos, I went inside and my wife and I finished taking down our own personal Christmas tree -- a job we'd started two days earlier.

I'm glad the city is more efficient than me.

On Sunday, crews from Illuminating Design removed the Christmas wreaths that have been hanging on Decatur's streetlights since Nov. 6.

That's more than two months.

Is that too long? Not long enough?

Take the Patch poll and tell us what you think.

Putting them up November 6 was too early. They should stay up until end of the 12 days of Christmas, on the other hand.

I think they went up earlier this year but the past two years they did not come down until the second week of January or later

The schedule used by the contractor means it costs Decatur less money to have them hung and taken down. I'm all for saving money.

I loved it. Got me in the mood to start thinking about Christmas while I was still taking down Halloween decorations.
