Decatur Woman Robbed In Front Of Home

The resident of Harold Byrd Drive said the man pulled a pistol after she found him searching the car.

A Decatur resident said an armed man robbed her July 11 in front of her residence in the 100 block of Harold Byrd Drive.

According to the Decatur police report, the woman parked in front of the residence about 11:20 p.m., didn’t lock the car and went inside for a few minutes.

When she came out to remove items from the car she found a man standing next to the open driver’s door and searching her car.

The woman said she verbally confronted the man and he walked toward her with a pistol in his hand that was concealed in a holster.

The woman put her hands and backed up. The man took a bag containing change and ran toward Maediris Drive. Police searched but didn’t find him.

The woman described the man as white, slender, 30-40 years old and clean-shaven with black spiked type hair. He wore black shoes and dark clothing.
