Update: The City of Decatur will provide live video streaming of the work session on annexation that starts at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20.
The city started but only for the regular commission meeting at 7:30 p.m. Providing it for the work session will be a real convenience for interested residents.
Linda Harris at city hall said in an email that the camera will provide only one shot -- the wide panoramic view of the city commission -- until the the camera operator arrives a little later.

Annexation is in the news again.
The Decatur City Commission tonight of Suburban Plaza, the Publix-anchored shopping center on the north side of town, the United Methodist Children's Home and some residential areas.
The work session on annexation will start at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room in Decatur City Hall. The public is welcome. The regular meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.
What areas might be annexed? The city government has posted a colorized map on the City of Decatur website, as well as frequently asked questions about annexation. City officials have said the annexation would not stop the planned redevelopment of Suburban Plaza, including the Super Walmart.
A referendum would have to be held because some of the land considered for annexation includes residential areas.
