Decatur Police Stop Men in Stolen Auto

Decatur police followed the car into Avondale Estates and stopped it on Clarendon Avenue.

This doesn't happen often. Decatur police crossed the city limits Friday morning to make an arrest in Avondale Estates.

Several people commented they noticed the commotion. Here's the information released by Decatur police.

On 07/18/13 at approximately 11:30 am, a Decatur officer observed a BMW reported stolen out of Florida on East College Avenue.  Additional officers responded to the area and a traffic stop was conducted in Avondale Estates.  The driver, identified as 20-year-old Nicholas D. Waller of DeKalb County, was arrested and charged with theft by receiving and driving with a suspended license.  A passenger, identified as 26-year-old Exevious Dwayne Lee of DeKalb County, was arrested and charged with theft by receiving and identity fraud and a hold was placed on Lee for an outstanding robbery warrant out of the Charlotte County, Florida.
