Decatur Monitors Weather For July 4th Celebration

Will the party be washed out? Residents are urged to look at the city website and Facebook and Twitter accounts.

With storms forecast for Thursday night, the City of Decatur is watching the skies and trying to decide whether to proceed with the city Fourth of July celebration.

Here's what the city posted on The Decatur Minute website.

Once again, Mother Nature is trying to rain on our parade…literally! We are monitoring the impending weather very closely and will continue to update the community here on our blog, on our website, and on the Downtown Decatur Facebook and Twitter accounts. Safety is our top priority here in the City so please understand that any decision we make will be in the best interest of our residents, visitors, and staff. Keep your fingers crossed that all of this ugly weather blows over so we can celebrate the 4th as planned!
