Decatur Commission to Vote on Craft Beer

The city wants to create a license category to allow craft beer brewing.

The Decatur City Commission will vote Monday night on whether to change city codes to allow the brewing of craft beer.

The change is needed because two residents want to open a brewery in East Atlanta Station, according to a memo from Assistant City Manager Lyn Menne. But there's no license category to fit that business, she said.

Decatur Metro reported recently that Three Taverns wants to open a brewery there and had secured funding to proceed.
