Art-B-Que, Green Fest Best Bets For The Weekend

Here's your weekend planner. Art and multiple bands at Art-B-Que in Avondale Estates, everything you want to know about greenness at Green Fest, a road race for little kids, a big yard sale and backyard poultry 101.

There's plenty to do this weekend in Decatur and Avondale Estates. Here are five suggestions, but for a full list of ideas go to the Patch calendar of events.

1. Art-B-Que. Come celebrate the arts in Avondale Estates. There will also be food and music throughout Saturday and Sunday in the Rail Arts District. Starts around 10 a.m. both days and lasts into the night.

2. Decatur Green Fest. Celebrate and learn about everything 'green'Β  from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday on the Decatur Court Square. The local beneficiary is Poverty is Real. Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project perform at 7 p.m. Free admission.

3. Little kids running against cancer. The annual Kids Kick it for Cancer run benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Decatur Toy Park at 601 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. There are races of different lengths for each age group. $20.

4. Winnona Park Yard Sale. The Winnona Park and Midway Woods neighborhood associations are joining forces to put on a big yard sale. Starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at 208 Shadowmoor Drive, Decatur. Looking is free.

5. Crash course on backyard chicken-keeping. The Wylde Center periodically teaches his very popular couse at the Oakhurst Community Garden. Starts at 10 a.m. Saturday. $20.
