Good morning, Decatur and Avondale Estates. Here are 5 Things to know about today.

1. Slightly cooler, but still hot. The high temp will be around 90 degrees, the low around 70. There's a 60 percent chance of rain in the morning, 50 percent later in the day.

2. Stories on the Square: Come to Eddie's Attic at 6:30 p.m. and share your favorite story. The suggested theme this month is "Heartbreak Hotel." Go to the Stories on the Square Facebook page to see what it's all about. Free admission.

3. Kopp's Kritters, a mobile petting zoo, visits the Decatur Library at 7 p.m. It's free and for the whole family.

4. . Folks running for the DeKalb County Board of Education in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will take questions 6-8:30 p.m. at Westwood College, 2309 Parklake Drive, NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.

5. Public meetings. Decatur School Board at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office Board Room, 758 Scott Blvd. Decatur Active Living Board and Decatur Planning Commission at 7 p.m. in Decatur City Hall. Avodale Estates Downtown Development Authority at 6:30 p.m. in Avondale Estates City Hall.
