Wabi-Sabi ~ Local Art and Home Decor

Local art-loving Decatur residents will love the eclectic and beautiful new shop Wabi-Sabi located just down the street from the Dekalb Farmers market.  Wabi-Sabi Home has an inspiring mix of furniture, art, home décor, original and unique features for any home.

Wabi-Sabi Home houses an array of local artwork, sustainable and original pieces to bring harmony to any living-space.

“The name Wabi-Sabi comes from the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and nature,” said owner Vanessa Hall who was inspired to start her own business to support local artists, sustainable products and of course to bring to life the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi.  Every item is carefully selected to reflect the natural beauty of imperfection.

The shop itself feels more like a gallery than a store featuring twelve local artists of different genres: pottery, photography, jewelry, paintings, and sculpture.  While surrounded by artwork, the atmosphere is still inviting, comfortable and homey.

Adding to the store’s charm, is a beloved bulldog puppy, Topanga who welcomes guests with kisses and attracts her own fan following.  Anyone looking for an original gift or unique piece for a home collection will feel welcomed and find what they are looking for in this one-of-a-kind store.

The space is also available to host workshops and events.  Events have included a tie-dye workshop for kids, trunk bead shows and mixers.
