Georgia Department of Labor and Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless will sponsor resource and career expo Sept. 5 at Turner Field

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) North Metro Career Center and Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless (HFTH) will sponsor Labor of Love, a resource and career expo, Thursday, Sept. 5, in Atlanta. The expo will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the Gold Parking Lot of Turner Field, located at 755 Hank Aaron Drive.

The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide education and additional resources. Various job-readiness workshops will be available, and HFTH will provide groceries to attendees in need.

Attendees should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. They are also encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.

Those expected to participate in the expo include: Areas USA Atlanta, Art Institute of Atlanta, AT&T, Avon, Belhaven University, Comcast Telesales Department, DeKalb County 911, Department of Juvenile Justice, DeVry University, Gwinnett County Police Department, KES Inc, Lab Corp, Lowes Home Improvement, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Pawn Mart, Perimeter Staffing Placements, Primerica, Securitas, Shorter University, Sodexo, and Washington Memorial Gardens.
