Atlanta Resident Becomes New Purchasing Manager at Construction Resources

Construction Resources, Inc. is excited to announce the hiring of Larry Weinreb as the purchasing manager of Atlanta Kitchen, Inc. Weinreb is a seasoned pro that will help the company price and determine the quality of various stones from vendors and quarries.

Since many slabs are shipped from other countries, Weinreb will devise metrics to judge distributors to meet the company’s needs. Also because of the international import of these products, he must stay on top of quarry output and performance, new opportunities, currency fluctuations, tariffs, laws, weather patterns and political temperature of various countries.

“Larry is a great asset to the Construction Resources team,” stated Mitch Hires, co-owner of Construction Resources. “His background is very unique, and we all find his stories fascinating. He has already proven that he was the perfect candidate for the job.”

As Hires explained, Weinreb’s background is unique and filled with adventures. He has spent the last 10 years in the stone industry, first as the buyer then manager at Stone Connection. There, Weinreb had the privilege to travel to quarries and factories in Brazil, India and Italy.

Then, he moved to Safra Granitos in Brazil. As the director of U.S. operations for a Brazilian stone supplier, Weinreb managed the U.S. client base and stock. He travelled with clients to help support sales and to specify materials at stock at the Cachoeiro facility and Savannah yard.

Later, Weinreb started Grapevine Granites. The company consulted for local stone buyers, homeowners and designers as well as represented Brazilian suppliers in the Southeast U.S.

Weinreb was not always a purchasing pro. He was born in St. Louis, Mo. and moved to Atlanta after his father’s job transfer in 1976. A graduate of California State University at Sacramento, Weinreb has a degree in Graphic Design.

“I got into the industry after graduating and fell in love with it,” said Weinreb. “I look forward to growing even more as a professional at Construction Resources.”

Currently, Weinreb resides in Atlanta with his wife, Lisa, and two daughters, Ava and Ellie. He is an ice hockey fan and aquarist with both fresh and salt water tanks.
