The Sweet Spot: Cookie Delivery for Valentine's Day

The Cookie Studio is gearing up for V's Day and is making "Whoopie Pies" and other scrumptious treats

Try this recipe to make a lasting impression after an interview or meeting with a new client: a tray, tin, box or basket of assorted homemade cookies, bars and cupcakes which have that just-baked aroma, delivered by a courier directly from in Decatur.

This “sweet spot” hits all the right places.

Baking happiness since 2005, The Cookie Studio owners Barbara and Jimmy O’Neill know how to roll out the dough in more ways than one.  Their business mission continues to not only fulfill your cookie fantasy, but to also give back to the community.

A portion of sales are given to the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children.  The downtown non-profit shelter serves as a resource center for both women and children in need.  It helps provide legal, employment assistance, medical services and educational seminars.

Prior to starting The Cookie Studio, Barbara was a full-time volunteer at the shelter.

“We give back as much as we can to the shelter. Some months it’s only tips, but as the economy improves, we hope there will be opportunity to donate more to the shelter,” said Barbara.

The Cookie Studio’s menu includes 18 varieties of cookies, five specialty cookies, cupcakes, brownies, bars and the Crème de la Crème Whoopie Pie.

“We started making Chocolate and Pumpkin Whoopie Pies last year and they have been a big hit," O'Neill said.  "We are adding a lemon with chocolate ganache center for spring."

Whoopie Pies are known for their sweet rich flavor. The cookie menu is a gastronomic treat which includes saucer sized favorites such as The Cookie Studio chocolate chip, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Additional choices include the snickerdoodle, white chocolate macadamia, butterscotch oatmeal, cherry ginger explosion, chocolate walnut and lemon sandwich cookie just to name a few.

In addition to sending cookies, the studio is open to walk-in customers Monday through Saturday.

“People love to come into the studio because it smells so good,” O'Neill said.

The studio is conveniently located across the street from the Avondale MARTA station on East College Avenue and is situated in a brightly lit space. Limited seating is available.

Order size is no issue for this sweet spot.  For Valentine’s Day, the O’Neill’s are churning out 10,000 “Stacks of Love” ginger, lemon and chocolate shortbread snaps in heart shapes.  This shortbread cookie is buttery good and sure to be snapped up by many.  Valentine’s Day is a very big day for the shop and business is expected to be brisk.

One frequently returning Cookie Studio corporate client, Elizabeth Gallo of Elizabeth Gallo Court Reporting, has experienced positive business feedback from law firm clients she has sent cookies to for promotions, tokens of thanks or just to get her business name out to her potential clients.

“We have ordered platters for special promotions, such as “Georgia Legal Cookie Day” in April," Gallo said. "I asked Barbara to put special card names on the cookies, such as “The Jury Needs Chocolate Chip Cookies” and they were a huge success."

This fun, affordable and creative way to send tokens of thanks, no matter whether it’s Valentine’s Day or any day, is an imaginative way to make people happy and remember the tasty moment.  Never underestimate the power of a good cookie to close the deal or get a job offer.
