Taste of Africa Flunks Health Inspection; Liz Roti House Passes with a '71'

Editor's note: Readers, our weekly round-up of health inspection scores includes those food establishments and food preparers in the city limits of Decatur, Avondale Estates and some portions of unincorporated DeKalb County, which have Decatur addresses but are outside its city limits. So some of the restaurants cited, though they have a Decatur address, may be in unincorporated DeKalb.

Taste of Africa & Coffee Shop failed its health inspection and received a '63' on Dec. 18.

The restaurant — 3711 No. Decatur Road, Decatur — was cited for 12 violations, including:

• Adequate ventilation and lighting; designated areas used
• Food properly labeled; original container; required records available; shellstock tags
  
• Toxic substances properly identified, stored, used
  

Another restaurant, Liz Roti House, which failed its Dec. 11 inspection with a '68,' passed with a '71' upon re-inspection on Dec. 19.
