New Finders Keepers Store Appeals to Stylish But Thrifty Men

Consignment shop with boutique atmosphere opens next to store for women.

Bonnie Kallenberg already had a consignment store for men in Avondale Estates, but wanted something more upscale and stylish.

That's why she opened another menswear shop last month at 2130 N. Decatur Road, right next to her existing consignment boutique for women's clothing.

"Avondale is everybody's store," she said. "This is stuff for the edgy guy. It's a different shopping experience."

She's seeking a boutique atmosphere. Besides being more stylish, the merchandise is a little pricier.

For example, a pair of Ferragamo lace-up shoes sell for $125 -- hardly cheap, but less than the $300 to $400 the shoes would normally sell for.

A Robley hat sells for $46. It retails normally for about $120.

Kallenberg got the extra space for the men's store when the Mexico City Grourmet restaurant closed down in the shopping center at Clairemont and North Decatur Roads. Finders Keepers and pizza split the space.

So far, Kallenberg said, the store is exceeding her expectations.

Finders Keepers Menswear is at 2130 N. Decatur Road, Decatur. 404-634-6995. www.fkconsign.com
