I do like Mezcalito's in Oakhurst, but I think it's a little over saturated with Mexican restaurants in this area. You have Tin Lizzy and Mibarrio Mexican Restaurant right next to it. Also Caramba Cafe (which is awesome) around the corner. Not to mention Across the Street and Pure just over on Highland.

I thought the same thing, and also Dakota Blue down the street. But Mezcalito's has still done well even with Matador virtually across the street from it in Oakhurst. Still, seems like an odd location.

I agree but I dont consider Tin Lizzy Mexican at all..it id just fast food & definetly the vibe is too rowdy...Mi Barrio is authentic mexican, Caramba is actually more cuban than mexican, The other ones are not in walking distance from Grant Park...Is a bit much for another place but I think it will give another style of clientele to Grant Park other thank the college crowd Tin Lizzy brings.

I like it. All of the local Mexican restaurants have their charm, and I frequent them all - but none knocking it out of the park. Pure has great drinks, so-so food. Dakota Blue can be like a playground. Matador has a fun crowd but bad margaritas, Caramba has great margaritas but its as loud as a cafeteria - etc etc --

Awesome! This means less drives to Oakhurst for me and mine.

We have enough Mexican food in this area already. Mi Barrio will always be my place to go. I'm not the only one that thinks this. Good luck, but you're probably setting yourselves up for failure.

I go to Caramba on average about 2 times a month and have never thought of the place as loud. Not loud like Tin Lizzy. Maybe you were there when there was a special event going on? Or maybe I don't notice because I've had too many of their strong Margaritas! I agree that I have not found a place that has both amazing food and amazing (strong) margaritas. It's either one of the other. However, I think in that part of town, Caramba comes the closest.

I will say that Mezcalito's does have "high-octane" margaritas that will set you on your ass! I don't recommend drinking a bunch of them and getting on your bicycle. I've done it. Not fun.

I absolutely love the Oakhurst location and people...just hope they don't spread themselves too thin. I also wonder why it's necessary to have 'multiples' of everything these days!!!

My wife & I eat at Mezcalito's just about every Sunday evening. The staff is incredible (like family to us & countless others here in Oakhurst), the food & drink are authentic & tasty (esp. the ridiculous tacos & sliver margaritas), and the space is cozy & charming. Certainly not inexpensive, but it's not just consumables you're paying for here. Besides, Mezcalito's has Mr. Neil Mejia.

We ate lunch here at the Oakland Ave (Grant Park) and it was awful. Salsa was sweet and no taste, Meat in tacos and other food was tough and over done--some too hard to eat. Service for just few people in resturante was ok but order was slow to come up and then sit in window for 6-7 min so go harder. I would not go to this place if you want to eat food that taste.

I love everything about this place from the decor to the food and I can't wait for them to start serving Rita's. I have been a big fan of this family oriented stablishment for a long time, I am so happy they open here in grant park it was a about time we have a unique nook here walking distance for most of us. I highly recomend it.
