Avondale Estates has begun this season’s farmers’ market, held from 9=10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Little Tree Art Studio..

The market’s vendors offer a selection of meats, baked goods, preserves and produce, plus fun activities for children.

Pine Street Market owner Rusty Bowers told the Dunwoody Neighbor he and Little Tree Art Studio owner Bob Means started the market to “showcase what makes Avondale Estates amazing.”

The market is a community effort, noted Bowers.

“We want to show our support of the city and encourage our residents to shop locally because we have some really outstanding businesses right here,” he said. “A lot of our customers shop twice a week so, we’re excited to bring this to our regulars on Sundays so they get to meet the people behind the products.”

Vendors who are interested in joining the market can apply online at www.avondaleestatesfarmersmarket.org.

On a Sunday? In the South? When every butt should be sitting in a church pew? Ha! Just kidding! Actually, this sounds good. I'll have to get up to Avondale Estates and check this out. Baked goods? Mmmmmmmm, I am SO there! LOL.
