'Jobs Bus' Visits Decatur Wednesday

The DeKalb County Mobile Career Center stops at the DFCS office on Sams Street. It will also make stops at the Covington Highway Library near Avondale Estates.

Avondale Estates and Decatur residents looking for work can visit the this week.

Here are some places the bus will stop in the area.

  • Tuesday, April 16. The Covington Library at 3500 Covington Highway from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 17. The Department of Family and Children Services at 178 Sams St. in Decatur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Major features of the resource center include 13 computer stations; a private interview area; high-speed satellite Internet connection; printer, scanner and copy services; and a fully accessible ADA workstation with movable table and auxiliary.Β

Businesses will be able to use the mobile unit for recruiting, pre-employment screenings, interviewing, and training.

The mobile unit will also provide residents with essential services including job search assistance, adult workshops and training, resume writing and interviewing tips.
