Family Dollar To Open Thursday

A Family Dollar store will open Thursday, Aug. 2, in the shopping center at 630 East Lake Drive in Oakhurst, according to the company website.

Family Dollar spokeswoman Bryn Winburn has said the store will have 8,000-9,000 square feet of space and employ eight-10 "team members."

The store hours will be 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

The Oakhurst opening, first reported in Decatur Metro, is part of a companywide expansion. The company website said 13 other stores open Aug. 2 and a total of 35 stores will open across the country in August.

The Decatur store will operate out of the shopping center where the Big H store used to be.

now occupies the middle section of the building. The other end of the building, where used to be, is empty.
