Tom Scott Memorial Garden Fundraiser

The State of Georgia, DeKalb County, and the Tom Scott Family are collaborating to develop a small garden in Tom's name at the corner of Memorial Drive and Northern Avenue.  To help fund the completion and ongoing maintenance of the Tom Scott Memorial Garden, you are invited to a fundraiser at Parker's on Ponce in Decatur for light appetizers and a cash bar.

Tom Scott loved Georgia and DeKalb County.  As a resident and civic leader, he was a big booster of the County's virtues and worked hard to improve its services.  He served first as a State Senator for eight years and then as DeKalb County Tax Commissioner for 14 years, administering our ad-valorem and property taxes.  He was a larger-than-life, generous man who believed in living life to the fullest.

The State of Georgia, through the efforts of State Representative Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, is naming the redesigned interchange at Memorial Drive and I-285 after the late Tom Scott.
