Steve Forbert

Live show at Eddie's Attic featuring Steve Forbert!!!

In the mid-1970s, STEVE FORBERT left the small town of Meridian, Mississippi (hometown of Jimmie Rodgers), to become a folk hero in the giant metropolis of New York City. Armed with just a guitar and a harmonica, he managed to cause a stir in NYC and his music established him as the fresh face of the folk-rock scene. Like a lot of other talented singer-songwriters who happened to play acoustic guitar and a harp-on-a-rack, Forbert was hailed by critics and promoters alike as yet another next Dylan. In the mid-1980s, Steve relocated to Nashville where he honed his skills as a singer-songwriter and continued to channel the best of folk, rock, country, and R&B into his uniquely American sound. Over the past 25 years, Steve has collaborated with some of the industry's best talent, including legendary producer, Jim Dickinson, E Street Band bassist, Garry Tallent, Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam's guitarist and producer), Eddie L. Smith, and longtime Jerry Lee Lewis sidekick, Kenny Lovelace. Later this year, you'll be able to spot him performing at the Sisters Folk Festival. Enjoy the best of LIVE music with Steve Forbert as he tours in support of his latest studio album, "Down in Flames.
