MilkDrive / Johnny Roquemore & The Apostles of Bluegrass

Live show at Eddie's Attic featuring MilkDrive and  Johnny Roquemore & The Apostles of Bluegrass!!!

The Austin alt-folk-progressive string band, MILKDRIVE, consists of Noah Jeffries, on guitar; Dennis Ludiker, on mandolin; Brian Beken, on fiddle; and Matt Mefford, on double bass. The quartet's sound is a textural, multi-layer mix of rhythms, tempos, flavors, harmonies, improvisation, and the confidence each possesses that comes from mastering their instruments. Together, the band has toured all over the U.S. and in 2010, they performed at River City Roots Festival, Four Corners Folk Festival, and Walnut Valley Music Festival.

JOHNNY ROQUEMORE AND THE APOSTLES OF BLUEGRASS push the limits of traditional bluegrass! "Up beat music and off beat lyrics," claims the L.A. Times. "A deranged backwoods Santa Claus...the new king of the road," says Creative Loafing. Johnny was named Creative Loafing Magazine critics' choice for "Best Local Singer-Songwriter," and received The Georgia Music Industry Association's "Best of Country" award!
