Carrie Newcomer

Live show at Eddie's Attic featuring Carrie Newcomer!!!

Praised by Billboard as being a "soaring songstress," CARRIE NEWCOMER is soaring to new heights with her latest album, "Before and After." Mary Chapin Carpenter and Krista Detor are guest appearances on "Before and After." Newcomer's poetic lyricism perfectly compliments her folk and roots background. Newcomer's music has been praised in Rolling Stone, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Performing Songwriter, and Paste Magazine. For example, The Minneapolis City Pages wrote, "Newcomer's musing is deeply introspective, but she offers it with a poet's sense of nuance and a folkie's common touch, turning philosophical theory into the stuff of people's daily lives." Throughout her career, Newcomer has been garnished with several awards like one of the "Top Most Influential Artists of the Past 25 Years" by Boston's WUMB and "Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year" from FolkWax Magazine. She has toured with Alison Krauss and Union Station in Europe and the U.S. and has recorded the title track of her 2002 album, "The Gathering of Spirits," with Krauss. Nickel Creek rerecorded Newcomer's song, "I Should've Known Better," on their Grammy-winning album, "This Side." But by far, Newcomer's greatest achievement was being invited by The American Center, the cultural outreach division of The American Embassy in India, to represent the U.S. as a cultural ambassador.
