Ben Sollee

Live show at Eddie's Attic featuring Ben Sollee!!!

After his booming success from the 2008 debut album, "Learning to Bend," BEN SOLLEE is now a well-known cellist and vocalist known for his percussive playing style, genre hopping songwriting, wide appeal, and political activism. His first album was so powerful that NPR's "Morning Edition" named Ben as one of the "Top Ten Great Unknown Artists of 2007." His music incorporates banjo, guitar, percussion and unusual cello techniques to create a unique mix of folk, bluegrass, jazz and R&B. Ben has worked with many great artists including Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Grammy-nominated fiddler, Casey Driessen, and multi-Grammy winning banjoist, Bela Fleck. Jim James says of Sollee's cello playing, "I never expect to see that cello in one piece after Ben gets done playing it. He bows and beats and works it over with a passionate fury rarely seen. Don't get me wrong - he can play it and hold his own with the most schooled and delicate scholars out there, but more importantly, Ben makes it live." Late in 2010, Ben began his "Ditch The Van Tour" where he and his band mates are literally ditching their van and riding bicycles to every city they tour! He is currently touring in support of his latest release, "Inclusions."
