Decatur Physical Therapist Receives State Horizon Award

Dr. Ingrid Anderson, a Decatur resident and owner of Intown Physical Therapy, received the 2013 Horizon Award from the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia on Oct. 19 at its 2013 Fall Conference.

The award recognizes an exceptional Georgia physical therapist who is actively involved in bettering the physical therapy profession through service.

Anderson was nominated for her dedication, time and extensive contributions to the profession. She previously served as chair of the Nominating Committee and is currently the Public Relations Committee chair, drawing on her skills of journalism, marketing and public relations.

Criteria for the Horizon Award is based on enthusiasm and service to PTAG in the first 2-3 years of membership. Eligible applicants are nominated through a specific selection process and are later voted on by both the PTAG Award Committee and Executive Committee.

“Ingrid has hit the ground running in the three short years she has been a member of PTAG,” said PTAG president, Dr. Barney Poole. “Her commitment and service to our profession makes her the perfect person to receive this award. She is a great example for future physical therapists in Georgia.”
