The Decatur Diner Sold

Nadul Khan buys restaurant from Shumacher Group and Steve Josovitz.

The Decatur Diner has changed hands.

The sale was first noted locally on Decatur Metro, which pointed out the Shumacher Group posted a note on its website saying:

The Shumacher Group, Inc. and Steve Josovitz has just sold the Decatur Diner located at 205 East Ponce De Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030-3405 at Church Street in the heart of Downtown Decatur.

In an email to Patch Josovitz said the buyer is Nadul Khan.

Details, such as purchase price or any changes that might be made to the menu, were not revealed.

The Decatur Diner has attracted lots of attention in Decatur, partly because of its prominent position at Church Street and East Ponce de Leon Ave., in the old Atlanta Bread Company space.

Construction of for the 24-hour diner took about a year. For months before it opened, the diner was brightly lit, . It actually opened on Valentine's Day and staff members handed out roses to customers.

The diner also racked at times. A few weeks ago, Decatur Metro reported, the Spanish-language newspaper Mundo Hispanico said that diner employees complained they were not being paid.
