Deal: Kids get to explore the garden and catch bugs to examine, plus have a snack. Cost is $12.

Hint:  Register 2-3 days in advance.

2. Garden Jams, , 435 Oakview Road, Decatur, GA 30030

Deal: Vegetarian potluck with live music in the garden, free.

Good Through: Sept. 16, 7–9 p.m.

Hint: In addition to your potluck dish, bring an instrument to play.

3. Bourbon & Bluegrass, , 111 Sycamore St., Decatur, GA 30030

Deal: Free celebration of National Bourbon Month with bourbon, barbecue, and bluegrass.

Good Through: Sept. 17, 6 p.m. until all the bourbon is gone.

4. Arts Party, , 100 N. Avondale Road, Avondale Estates, GA 30002

Deal: Fundraiser to support the Avondale Arts Alliance.  Free admission with option of $10 wine tasting.

Good Through:  Sept. 17, 2011, 5–8 p.m.

5.  Gently Used Jewelry & Accessory Sale, , 101 E Court Square, Decatur, GA 30030

Deal: Men and women’s gently used jewelery and accessories from $1-3 per item.  All proceeds benefit the DeKalb Rape Crisis Center.
