DeKalb County Schools Start Monday
This year, students from Fernbank Elementary will attend classes at Avondale Middle School.
School buses will fill the roads on Monday, Aug. 12, as thousands of kids head to the first day of classes in DeKalb and Fulton County school systems.
In the Decatur and Avondale Estates area, Avondale Elementary will open. Kids from Fernbank Elementary will start attending classes at Avondale Middle School while Fernbank undergoes extensive renovations.
The Museum School of Avondale Estates, a charter school, opened Aug. 1. Decatur City Schools started Aug. 1 and Atlanta Public Schools Aug. 7.
