UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: The City of Decatur has issued permits to a film company shooting a comedy adapation of "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
Katie Abel, special events coordinator for Decatur, sent Patch an email Wednesday saying shooting is expected to take place Thursday through the early morning hours on Saturday.
Why the update? The production company had told residents it was going to shoot before the permits were formally issued.
Another movie will be filming in Decatur.
Scenes from "What To Expect When You're Expecting," a comedy adaptation of the pregnancy guidebook by Heidi Murkoff, will be shot at 116 E. Maple St. in Decatur.
Decatur resident Chris Billingsly passed along a note the movie folks left with residents of the neigbhorhood.
The note from Walter W. Thompson, the assistant location manager, said the production company has permits with the city for essential support trucks to park:
1. In the east parking lane of McDonough Street from East Howard Avenue to East Trinity Place.
2. In the east lane of Church Street from East Howard to East Trinity Place.
The notice said most of the equipment will be parked on private property.
The movie is about five couples dealing with pregnancy. Patch doesn't know what actors will be working Wednesday and Thursday, but the cast includes Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock, Jennifer Lopez and Elizabeth Banks.
The notice was sent by Lionsgate and WTE Productions Inc.
Last summer, . Some of the actors were Robert Duvall, Kevin Bacon and Billy Bob Thornton. "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," starring Jennifer Garner, was shot here early this year.
