Movie Crews Filming in Ryan Gainey's Decatur Garden

Filming "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," starring Jennifer Garner, has taken over one of the most featured gardens in Decatur

Jennifer Garner and the fim crews of "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" took over Ryan Gainey's home and garden on Emerson Street in Decatur on Thursday.

The small street was blocked off as crews filmed the movie, which has been shooting at various locations around Decatur the past several weeks.

Gainey's cottage is popular for garden tours, and his website describes him as "gardener, poet, raconteur,  philosopher, mentor, verbite, visionary,
designer, and  showman all in one."  His home was the cover story for the August 1992 issue of House & Garden magazine.

His garden also has been included in many publications including "Gardens of the South," House Beautiful's Outdoor Living and Gardens, Frances Schultz's "Atlanta at Home" and "Atlanta at Table," "Gardens of Georgia," Better Homes and Gardens Garden Style, and in Rosemary Verey's, "The American Man's Garden," according to Gainey's website.

The "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," according to Internet Movie Database, is a fantasy fable featuring a childless couple, Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgarton ("Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones") and they bury a box containing their wishes for a baby. But when the child is born, he is "not all that he appears," according to the website. The movie also features Rosemarie DeWitt and her real life husband, Ron Livingston (aka Jack Berger from "Sex and the City").
