Pottery Show - Asheville in Atlanta

MudFire Gallery in Decatur is excited to announce the 10th annual installment of our Asheville in Atlanta series. Each year since 2003, MudFire has hosted an exhibit of new ceramic work by talented artists from in and around Asheville, North Carolina. One of the preeminent centers of ceramic art in the world, the Asheville area is home to hundreds of potters and sculptors including many of the most prominent voices in the field.

Our 10th Annual Asheville in Atlanta show features new and returning friends, all of whom invest heavily in the surface of their functional pottery. These embellishments include a mix of abstract and nature influence imagery, often times woven together in counterpoint on the surface of a single vessel. Using traditional firing methods and materials, all of the participating artists offer up bodies of work alive with imagery and energy for the contemporary home.

Asheville in Atlanta 2012 opens on Friday, September 21, at Noon, and continues through November 18. We will celebrate with an artist reception and birthday party from 5-9 pm on September 21.
