Pottery exhibit at MudFire Gallery: Partners in Crime
MudFire Gallery hosts “Partners in Crime” an exhibit of contemporary clay influenced by urban decay and humor in a post-enlightened society.
Luba Sharapan makes pottery that speaks of ancient cities, industrial revolutions, rusty water towers, dangerously decrepit rooftops, and lonely vampyres stalking fancy ladies. Erik Haagensen's pottery combines the speckly goodness of stoneware, a tight-crazing shino glaze, hand-inked illustrations of odd little beasties, and bits of poetic quippery. http://www.mudfire.com/partners-in-crime.htm
The opening reception is Saturday, February 12, 2011 in collaboration with the 4th annual R.A.D. Studio Cruise in the industrial arts complexes of Decatur and Avondale Estates. In addition to exhibit openings and performances, neighborhood artists team with local boutiques hosting even more artists for a massive celebration of art.
